The North American Veterinary Medical Education Consortium (NAVMEC) was established to study how educational models, accreditation, and licensing can work together to educate the next generation of veterinarians. Among its goals is to ensure that admissions, curricula, accreditation, and testing/licensure are competency driven.

Caribbean veterinary school receives full accreditation
During its September 18-20, 2011, meeting, the Council on Education granted full accreditation for a period of up to seven years to St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine.
