Do you know what to do if an earthquake hits? 2012 marks the bicentennial year of the New Madrid earthquakes, a series of devastating earthquakes and aftershocks that affected several Midwestern states between December 16, 1811, and March 15, 1812.
The 2012 Great Central U.S. ShakeOut, a voluntary nationwide earthquake drill, will be held at 10:15 a.m. on February 7, 2012 to teach Americans what to do before, during, and after an earthquake.
