The Vaccine-Associated Feline Sarcoma Task Force (VAFSTF) has served veterinarians, cats, and cat owners for nearly nine years. This transcript from the June 1 issue of JAVMA offers a summary of the current understanding and optimal management of vaccine-associated sarcomas.
The VAFSTF will conclude its official activities after a panel discussion to be held during the 142nd AVMA Annual Convention. Roundtable participants will assemble during the convention and respond to questions from attendees.

Which vaccines should your pet receive and how often?
(May 27, 2005)
The AVMA believes there is no single, easy answer to this question. We recommend a "best fit" approach in which your veterinarian considers medical history, lifestyle, and emerging scientific vaccine information to customize a vaccine plan to meet your pet's specific needs.
Consult our online Vaccination Resources for the latest information available to help you navigate these important issues for your pet.

Congress considers legislation to ensure public health
(May 9, 2005)
In 2001, the normally pastoral British landscape was transformed into a blazing killing field when the carcasses of millions of sheep and cattle were incinerated to prevent the spread of foot and mouth disease.

Working to address this pressing need, U.S. Senator Wayne Allard (R-Colorado) has introduced the Veterinary Workforce Expansion Act in the Senate. [more]
