From chocolate samples to photo opportunities, the Bayer Bash offered a little bit of something for everyone who attended Saturday night.

The free event attracted hundreds of convention-goers of all ages. Guests sampled hors d'oeuvres from the buffet tables and enjoyed a variety of displays and activities.

At three chocolate-tasting stations, experts explained the process of making chocolate and ways to judge its quality. At another station, children and adults painted decorative square tiles as well as tiles shaped like doghouses and dog bones. Elsewhere, attendees posed for caricatures.

The entertainment included three singers and a woodcarver. Displays included woodcarvings and decorative glass produced by local artists.

The decor varied throughout the hall, from bright paper lanterns to imitation pine trees, reflecting features of the Pacific Northwest. Attendees relaxed on couches and perched on tall bistro chairs.

Before the soiree ended, many of the guests posed for photos with entertainers dressed in bright yellow fishermen's slickers and in front of a replica of the landmark red sign at the Pike Place Market.
