The AVMA's Congressional Science and Executive Branch Fellowships offer veterinarians the opportunity to spend a year in Washington, D.C. working in the federal government as a scientific resource. The AVMA Fellowships are designed to help veterinarians garner a better understanding of the governmental process, gain insight into the future of science and the veterinary profession, as well as the chance to be on the frontlines of government decision-making. Once again, the AVMA will offer fellowships in the U.S. Congress and Department of Homeland Security.
Fellows receive a stipend of $65,000 plus reimbursement for certain expenses. The AVMA Fellowships will begin in August of 2007 and will continue until August of the following year. |
