In Seattle at the AVMA Convention? Come Meet AVMA-CAN!
Congress took a brief recess last week to celebrate Independence Day and returned to work this week, resuming major legislative debates on hot-button issues, such as climate change and health care. The rush is on for Congress to accomplish as much as possible before the start of the long summer recess, which is scheduled to begin for the House of Representatives on August 1 and Senate on August 9, and ends for both the House and Senate on September 7.

Meanwhile, the AVMA Congressional Advocacy Network (AVMA-CAN) is currently in Seattle at the 146th Annual AVMA Convention. We'll be here through July 14, so make sure you come out and say hello. The AVMA's lobbyists and advocacy experts, who are fighting on Capitol Hill for the legislative concerns of the veterinary profession, are here in Seattle to answer your questions.
