Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone who is an AVMA voting member (PDF) can volunteer for positions on our Councils and Committees. From food animal to public health, and companion animal practices, the AVMA strives to have members from all areas of the profession represented in leadership roles.

Candidates for Council and Committee positions must update their AVMA membership and professional activity profile. Council members may serve only one six-year term. Committee members may serve two consecutive three-year terms. Executive Board candidates must be voting members of the AVMA for at least five years, and reside in the district they are elected.
