Councils

The AVMA Bylaws call for six standing Councils. The Councils serve as advisory bodies to the Executive Board. The Councils anticipate the needs of the profession, address issues in their assigned areas, and recommend appropriate actions to the Executive Board. Council members are elected to six-year terms by the House of Delegates at an annual session to represent specific areas of the profession. The Councils meet twice a year.
