Dr. Gary S. Brown, owner since 1990 of Animal Care Center PLLC in Princeton, W.Va., has distinguished himself as a veterinarian through his dedication to the profession and his involvement with veterinary education programs. A 1984 graduate of the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Brown worked for six years as a staff veterinarian in Princeton, W.Va. before establishing his own practice. Animal Care Center is an 11,000 square foot state-of-the-art veterinary medical and surgical center, which currently employs four veterinarians and ten support staff.
In addition to building his own practice, Dr. Brown has stayed active in professional associations and in veterinary education. He has served on student education boards, mentoring programs and has held multiple offices with the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (WVVMA), including president from 2004 to 2006. Dr. Brown has served on the AVMA House of Delegates since 2006.
Dr. Brown has received a number of awards, including West Virginia University Alumni of the Year, the WVVMA Outstanding Service Award and the AVMA House of Delegates Service Award.
Dr. Brown is an experienced helicopter pilot and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He also belongs to the Harley Owners Group, the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Family Motor Coach Association. His love of animals extends past veterinary medicine. A member of the Italian Greyhound Club of America, Dr. Brown has trained and shown multiple champion Italian Greyhounds, one of which earned the title of No. 6 Italian Greyhound in the nation.
Dr. Brown serves the AVMA with the support of his wife, Mitzi.
