Veterinary Leadership Conference Planning Committee — Entity description

Veterinary Leadership Conference Planning Committee
To develop leaders for the benefit of the individual and the profession.

Charge/Objective
The committee is responsible for planning the annual Veterinary Leadership Conference. The conference was established to provide an annual forum to enhance leadership, governance, and public relations skills of state and allied organization leaders, CEOs, and recent graduates.

Membership, Method of Appointment, and Representation
The six-member committee is appointed by the Executive Board, from the following groups Executive Board (1 member), Council on Public Relations (1 member), American Society of Veterinary Medical Association Executives (1 member), recent graduate (graduated within the last seven years, 1 member), constituent association officer (1 member), and House Advisory Committee (1 member).

Members serve staggered three-year terms.

Chair
The chair is elected by the committee.

Meetings
The entity meets immediately following the Leadership Conference, and by telephone conference.

Funding
The Committee is funded through the conference budget.

Reports
The entity reports to the Executive Board.

Life Expectancy
The Committee will be reviewed in compliance with AVMA governance policies
