AVMA/Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) Joint Committee — Entity description

AVMA/AAVMC Joint Committee
At its July 19, 1996 meeting, the Executive Board reestablished a joint AVMA/AAVMC Committee to monitor changes in and the future direction of veterinary medicine in North America.

Charge/Objective
Includes advising the AVMA Executive Board and, through the Board, appropriate councils and the House of Delegates; and also advising the AAVMC Executive Committee and, through the Committee, appropriate association committees and membership.

Membership, Method of Appointment, and Representation
AVMA appointments will be made by the Executive Board Chair.

Representation: AVMA Executive Board (1), House of Delegates (1), Member-at-Large (1) AAVMC: President, Past-President, President Elect

AVMA Staff Consultant: Donald G. Simmons

Chair
The meetings will be co-chaired by the AVMA Executive Board member and the AAVMC President.

Meetings Meetings
will be held twice per year, alternating between AVMA Headquarters and AAVMC Headquarters.

Funding
$7,500/year

Reports
The Committee will report to the Executive Board.

Life Expectancy
The Committee will be reviewed in compliance with AVMA governance policies
