P&G PET CARE POSITION STATEMENT IN RESPONSE TO TODAY'S ANNOUNCEMENT BY THE FOOD & DRUG ADMINISTATION
- There is no melamine or wheat gluten in any Iams or Eukanuba dry pet foods.
- Iams and Eukanuba dry pet foods do not contain wheat gluten and are made in P&G Pet Care plants (not Menu Foods). Pet owners should know that Iams and Eukanuba dry foods are not manufactured by Menu Foods and are not part of this recall.
- Only a small portion of our products were affected by the Menu Foods recall, and these products have already been removed from retail store shelves in the U.S. and Canada.
- P&G Pet Care immediately suspended production of all wet pet foods at the affected Menu Foods Emporia plant on March 14, 2007.
- P&G Pet Care has shared all of its data and continues to cooperate fully with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in this investigation.
