Agriculture inspections at points of entry

The AVMA calls for the Department of Homeland Security to increase the scope, intensity, and innovation of agricultural inspections at points of entry, including urging the Department of Homeland Security to staff points of entry to the authorized levels in order to meet baseline safeguards. These steps are critical to protect the United States' vital infrastructure of food and agriculture from terrorist attack or unintentional introduction of exotic or emerging diseases or pests.
